     Ultra-formal wedding

My fiancee and I are having an ultra-formal Saturday morning wedding. Me and my groomsmen will be wearing morning coats and ascots. To make me stand out, my fiancee wants me to wear grey gloves and spats. I've never heard of this before and don't know where she is coming from. Is this a real thing she's talking about and are there any other ways to make me stand out?

Dear Oxman,

The only way to make you stand out is maybe to change your ascot to a different pattern. Or put all the groomsmen in stroller jackets instead of cutaways, and you will standout in the cutaway, as far as spats and gloves that is a new precident that she would be starting.
