Groom Attire for 5PM Memorial Day Wedding

After searching this and my Emily Post's "Wedding Etiquette" book, I still am confused about the proper attire for my fiance and his groomsmen on our wedding next Memorial Day. We are getting married and having our reception in the garden courtyard of an historic home. The ceremony and cocktail hour will have a string trio and the reception, a DJ. The cocktail hour will immediately follow the vows and then dinner will be seated or semi-buffet.
My dress is a strapless cream gown, made of organza and satin, with a chapel train. My bridesmaids will be wearing knee-length, silk shantung dresses. My mother and I have discussed the options of tuxedos or white dinner jacket tuxedos, but we really cannot decide. What would you recommend for their attire, including traditional vest color?
Thank you in advance and I look forward to your responses.

Dear LKokonut,

If the weather is traditionally warmer at that time, then the white dinner jackets would be fine. But, you can never go wrong with the black. It is very nice.

The vests can blend with the bride's colors. You can be more creative there.

Best wishes,
