father of bride attire

I am the bride. My mother is wearing the color of the wedding (sage). I read that the mother of the groom is supposed to wear a color that complements the wedding. So i requested that she wear silver. Is my father supposed to match the wedding party also with his tux? Should the father of the groom wear silver with his tux to match the mother of the groom?

Dear Laurie,

In your case I would suggest that the father match the mother's dress but not wear a color similiar to the groom.
