     groom attire

My son will be married in a Catholic church at 2 p.m. The bride is wearing a traditional long dress. The reception begins at 5. He does not want to wear a tuxedo, and would like to work a gray business suit, not a stroller. Is this appropriate? Can he wear a colored vest with it that ties in the color of the wedding party? This is a small, intimate wedding with 50 people. There are only two attendants. The Maid of Honor is wearing blue, as are the flower girls. What does the Best Man need to wear? Help!!!

Dear Kanderson,

Whatever he wears should be determined by both the bride and he, and should reflect the formality of the wedding. If she is dressed in formal attire, he should be as well, which would be a tuxedo since the reception begins at 5 pm. If this is informal, a suit is fine.

He can wear any color vest he wishes as long as it blends with the colors the bride has chosen.

All men should be dressed the same.

And, please remember that the mother of the bride chooses her outfit first and you coordinate with her.

Best wishes,
