     ivory shirt????

We were informed by a tuxedo rental place that since my dress was white the groom's and groomsmen's shirts should be off white or ivory. The theory being that in the pictures, my dress would look unwashed next to his white shirt. However neither the groom nor his mother is fond of the ivory claiming that it appears washed out.

What is the standard and what is the "correct" thing to do? Has anyone experienced this issue? Does it really change the look in the photos or does it not matter at all?

Thanks.

The guys should be in white shirts only!

I miss-worded my original question - my dress is ivory - should the men wear off white - ivory or white? Thanks for the responses!

I leave it up to each wedding party individually, some wear white and some wear ivory, I tend to think white is a much cleaner look, ivory tends to wash out the complexion and look dirty.

Thanks! I'm encouraging my fiance to decide and I will go along with whatever he feels comfortable with!
