     tuxedos for FOG/StepFOG/Grandfather

Who should be wearing tuxedos at wedding when it comes to father of the groom, step father of the groom and grandfather of the groom. I remarried and the former & present spouses do intermingle at family functions. My son has suggested that both of them wear tuxedos to his wedding. He also wanted to know if his grandfather should be wearing a tux. Thanks.

Dear Tuxedos for All,

Typically the step father dresses as one of the guests, but in this case he is being treated as one of the fathers.

If this is an evening affair, all fathers should be dressed the same as the groomsmen. Tuxedos are formal evening attire; if this is being held during the day, strollers would be better.

Grandparents sometimes dress as the rest of the bridal party. This is optional.

Best wishes,
