I am having the hardest time searching for wedding gowns at this stage of my life and desperately need some good advice! I will turn 42 in August (before the wedding) but thankfully, am told I still look like I am in my mid 30's. This will be my first marriage and I do want to wear white and something very feminine and pretty without trying to look like a 20-something. I stand only 5'4" but will of course be in 3" heels (I wear them all the time) and am a size 2/4. Because I am small, should I focus on a dress that is strapless and more straight fitting or would a halter or "A" line gown be more appropriate? Also, I am a bit busty (34D) so I don't want any style that will cause people to notice my breasts and not me! What are the "rules" for the first time, over 40 bride? I have searched the internet but am just not finding much help. Any help/advice would be SO appreciated!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! An A-line or full-skirt dress with halter top would look gorgeous on you! Fuller skirt will draw attention away from your breasts. Go for classic styles; talk to the consultant at the bridal salon - sometimes, they can give excellent advise. Enjoy your wedding! Irina Feygin, IMpeccable iMage, Inc.
