     Bon Voyage party w/white dress?

Is it appropriate if the bride wears a white dress at the Bon Voyage party? (we are eloping to Paris and we want to have a send-off party before we go). Can I wear a white dress, that is not my wedding dress?

Dear Off to Paris,

This isn't a wedding reception, so you can wear any color dress you'd like as long as it isn't a wedding dress.

Please make sure that your guests know that this isn't a gift giving situation.

Best wishes,

Thank you Rebecca.

Actually, we are going to register for a honeymoon for our trip. We are hoping our guests will donate upgrades, museum passes, dinner, spa days, etc. for the trip. That way, our relatives out of state and out of country can offer gifts if they like. (FYI - we have been together for 10 years and have our own house together, so really don't want any housewares, linens or glasses as gifts).

Do you think the gift registry online would still be appropriate to announce before we leave town?
