     Bridal Party Kilts

Hi,

A pre-thanks for your help....

I am getting married in a couple of years and need a bit of advice about the attire of the bridal party , mostly the grooms side.

I am Scottish, have my own family tartan and also own my own kilt. Im going to wear my kilt at my wedding which my future bride has no problems with. The only issue we are having here is with the rest of the groom's party. Who should wear kilts in my groom's party? My best man (brother), father, ushers and father of the bridehave expressed interest in wearing a kilt. My brother and father are of the same family name so would have the same tartan as me. My ushers are English with no Scottish connections and the father of the bride is Scottish with another family name.

My fiance thinks all the different tartans will look messy in the photos. Can everyone wear my family tartan? Or should everyone apart from the father of the bride?
Would it be possible for all groom's bridal party apart from father of bride be able to wear same tartan?

Thanks again for your help and also for taking the time to dechpher the question!
BIll

Dear Bill,

All of the groomsmen can wear your tartan. If the bride's father has his own family tartan, he can wear that. If not, he can wear yours. Even if all were to wear different family tartan, the jackets would be the same. So, they really don't clash.

Best wishes,
