I am getting married in June of 2008 and I was figuring on designing and sewing my own dress. Obviously, it is going to be a fairly simple dress. Now for the problem. While I am quite exceptional with needle and thread, it is the ability to render my ideas for a dress into any kind of sketch which resembles something other than a "Picasso coat-rack."
Unfortunately, I have already tried the magazine (and Internet) picture cutting method to no avail (break-the-code: icky and disastrous outcome).
Are there any other methods I might use that won't break the bank?

Lola -
Perhaps you can find a local artist to render your drawing as per your instructions. Another suggestion would be to visit your local fabric shop and ask for their help. Many times they will be able to offer advice or direction to those who can help. Unfortunately, we do not have a seamstress on panel.
