Buying a wedding dress from a catalog

I have a couple of wedding dresses picked out from a certain designer through a catalog. I have been to a couple bridal shops that are associated with this designer but they do not have any sample dresses in stock. I am scared that if I buy the dress I picked from the catalog that it will look totally different when it comes in. I don't want to be left with a dress that will either not look right in the end or is just opposite from what the picture shows. What to do?

Be sure to first check on the return and exchange policies of the store. If agreeable, go ahead and get both and return if they aren't what you expect.
