My fiancee and I are paying for the wedding ourselves. I have found many beautiful dresses in our price range and simply want to be able to wear the dress for other special occasions as they arise. A few associates/semi friends have frowned upon this. I want to proudly say at the second or third special occasion if someone should complement me that this is my wedding dress without worry about looks and responses.
Thank you,
Theresa

Since your dress sets the formality of the wedding, perhaps you should consider a very informal wedding. This will eliminate the need for tuxes and other formal attire. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

I completely agree. A cocktail dress could be worn for a informal wedding and other occasions. Personally, though, I might not want to inform others that it was also my wedding dress. But, that's just me Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
