We already know that our wedding is going to be informal, but my parents want the wedding to be as formal as possible. Her mom said black jeans would be fine and the girls can wear jean skirts and a red top. It just sounds tacky.
I can see both sides, but it is our wedding, it only happens once. She doesn't care what people wear. I will be getting my tux for free and the party is getting 20 dollars off. They guys are all going to be wearing cowboy hats and boots
If they can't afford it they can turn us down gracefully if they just don't have the funds. I want it to be a night for her to remember.
I could really use your help on this, because I don’t want to make anyone mad.
Thank You Steve

Steve -
I'm not sure I understand your question but I'll give it a try.
You and your fiance are disagreeing on the fomality of your wedding? Asuming that is the issue, I would suggest some good, long talks with your bride. Come together and compromise on the issues. Doing so will be good practice at being married since marriage takes quite a bit of patience, understanding and compromise.
If her parents are paying for this wedding their financial concerns should be consdidered. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
Your close, its not us that dont agree its our parents. We just want everyone to look nice. Her mom actually told us she can't contribute to the wedding very much and my parents are trying to help us.
Hope that kinda clears it up.
Thanks Steve

I don't see an issue then. Just go ahead and plan the wedding the two of you want. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I agree. Plus, please remember that all of the attire should be of the same formality and tuxedos are evening formal attire. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
