     Family Wedding Gown

Is it considered a faux pas - or bad luck - to pass down a wedding gown to a family member if now divorced? I still have my dress and my niece will be getting married this fall. More than likely she will need to have it altered - and imagine her adding her own style to it. Just wanted some feedback. Thank you!

Dear Generous Aunt -

Personally, I don't believe in luck, good or bad, so, if your neice likes the idea it seems fine to me. Plus, if she's having it altered the seamstress could possibly do some beading or lacework to try to make it her own.
