     Formality of dress?

My wedding dress is a gorgeous ballgown style dress with layers and layers of tulle. There is beading all over the bodice and splashed across the first layer of tulle. It is floor length with a small train and I'm wearing a two layer elbow length veil.

What formality is this dress? I promised myself I wouldn't get caught up in that but my fiance and groomsmen don't know if they need to wear suits or a tux.

Any help would be wonderful :)

Dear OK,

Most views this as formal, although it is semi-formal in some books.

If this is held during the day, the men would wear strollers (my preference) or a dark suit. If it is held during the evening, the men would wear tuxedos.

Best wishes,
