Is a gown with a train appropriate for a third wedding? It's ivory, halter style, with minimal beading, and a modest train. I did not want a traine, but the sales women said it was appropriate and my fiance fell in love with the dress, but I'm not sure. I'm 46 years old and don't want to look silly. If it is not appropriate, or if I feel uncomfortable, is it okay to bustle the train for the entire event (ceremony, too)? Bridesmaids are wearing knee-length satin dresses and men are all wearing tuxes. The Church wedding starts at 2:30pm on a Saturday in September and the reception is at a very nice restaurant. Note, I will not wear a veil (I put my foot down on that one!). Thank you for your advice!

Dear Annapolismd,
Years ago, in fact, not too many years ago, a train was not considered appropriate for the encore bride. But, things have changed. This is fine. The veil is fine as well, as long as it is not a blusher, which is still reserved for the first time bride.
Tuxedos are formal evening attire. Strollers or dark suits are reserved for formal daytime weddings.
