     Older Bride wearing Couture Gown

Smile Hello there. I am in dire need of advice. I am 42 yrs old and getting married for the first time. I would like to wear my Dream gown in Ivory which is a Demetrios Couture Gown in Ivory/Nude Style#1261 of their 2005 collection. Would this gown look appropriate with a chapel length veil or should I just use hair ornaments? I have mid length long hair and I am going to wear it down. This is a pic of my gown and also the hair style I will be wearing. Can you also tell me if you think the jewelry I have picked out will look okay with this gown also? Thank you so very much for taking the time to read this.

Dear Ms. Cleveland:

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. When is the date??

Your dress is Fabulous! Necklace, a choker and bracelet: lovely too.

In my opinion, a veil, at any length although traditionally "bridal" is altogether too much for the style of your dress. There is a lot going on with your dress.

My advice is to go with a headpiece: Custom, and simple, if you have the time to order one made. Otherwise, silk flowers, feathers, pearls, Swarovski crystals, maybe bits of chiffon, to emulate the skirt portion of the dress.
This could be done on a wire comb and worn to one side.

Matching details on "bobby pins/clips" could also be done to trail into your hair style or worn alone without the headpiece.
Please give me a call if I can assist further.

Best of everything to you. If you've waited until now to marry, this must, indeed , be a VERY SPECIAL person (and very lucky to finally get you to say YES!)

My hat's off to you!

Smile We are having a formal wedding with approximately 250-300 guests. We are still searching for the locations though. It will be on May 27, 2006.

Smile Thank you so very much for the ideas. I love the idea of the small bits of chiffon and tiny silk flowers possibly to the one side on a comb. I am so very excited and the dress is so very stunning. I would have to say it is the most beautiful gown I have ever seen and you cannot tell by the pic but this is a 2 pc gown and the top is covered in Swarovski crystals so it just glistens.

This man is by far one in a million. We met over the internet 9 years ago. We chatted online for over 6 months before even meeting in person because I was terrified of internet dating, but I would have to say I am the luckiest woman alive. He too, has never been married which makes our Love even stronger. We feel we were destined Soul Mates waiting to happen.

Cleveland Bride,

Your dress & accessories are stunning. Being that the dress is elaborate I would suggest going simple with the veil and hair accessories. I think any length veil would look fine. I would suggest a simple/narrow veil. You want it to compliment your gown not compete with it. I agree with Gina a simple comb or hair pins on the side or throughout the hairstyle would be a nice touch.
