I'm a 56 year old plus size bride who's getting married for the first time. This will be a first for my fiance as well. I have ordered a traditional beaded lace bodice v-neck A-line gown with 3/4 lace sleeves and a modest train. Our wedding will have many traditional Jewish customs, and that raises the question "Should I wear a veil?" It is a part of the ceremony ("the covering") and that means the veil would be over my face for the ceremony. Do you feel it will look appropriate and what length veil would be most flattering? I know I will be surrounded by family and friends but I don't want to look silly.

Re: [Jetneo] Plus-size older bride....to veil or not to veil?

Dear Jetneo,
The veil is fine. No worries. I'm not sure about the length, exactly. But, it may be best to wear the veil that best suits your dress, the formality of your wedding, and one that best suits the ceremony. I would imagine this would be a fingertip veil, but I'm not the fashion expert.
