     Red Wedding Dress

I very much have a desire to get married in red! I have found a dress I really like which is burgundy with gold embroidery - very regal!

The dress is very much suited to a wedding taking place in a manor house setting in the UK, but plans have changed and we will now be getting married either by the Niagara Falls or in Vancouver.

I want the dress to suit the location and I am now thinking that maybe the colour will be too heavy for somewhere scenic in Canada? I am also thinking of the photo's, maybe a white dress would suit the location better?

Although I very much want a red dress, I am now slightly leaning towards white because of this.

I look forward receiving to your comments.

Niagra Falls or Vancouver will be just fine for whatever dress you choose. In fact, if you get married in the mountains it would still be beautiful.

Contrary to popular belief, Canada is not the height of rugged wilderness. While we do have places like that, your talking two of the busiest cities/areas in the country (along with Quebec City and Toronto).

Your dress will be just fine.

Out of curiosity, do you have a picture of it? I'm very interested in seeing what a red wedding dress would look like.

I think this dress is nice in ivory, but doesn't look so good in white. If I do go for white, it will not be this dress.

If I wear red, would I still look like a bride though?!

Beautiful dress. Not very bride-like though. Brides do traditionally wear white or versions of it after all.

Your dresses look like bridesmaids dresses. If you waer red, what wil the bridal party be wearing?

Unfortunately there will be no bridal party. There will be my fiancee and I, and hopefully his parents.

You really seem to be concerned about wearing red and the perception others will have of a red dress. This makes me think that you have some level of discomfort about it. If you truly don't care what others think then gop with the dress you love. If you have any doubts though, consider going with the traditional.

Have you ever seen a picture of yourself from the past and said, "What was I thinking with that outfit?". You won't want that with your wedding photos, will you?

I look back on my weding photos of some 20 years ago and still love the dress I selected, it was timeless, not trendy.

Ultimately though, you have to feel beautiful and special for your day.

Maybe you can do white/ivory dress with red jewelry and a red shawl.
