Removing the train from a dress for a second wedding.
I was originally looking for something more sleek and elegant for my second wedding, however, I found a beautiful dress that fits me perfectly at a consignment shop. The problem is that it has a chapel train, which I've heard is a "no-no" for a 2nd wedding and it's a little "poufy". I was wondering if it could be altered to remove most of the train and take out some of the pouf?

A second time bride (as long as we are not confusing a second wedding with a vow renewal) doesn't necessarily have to omit a train. Trains can be acceptable as long as you are matching the formality of the wedding. The formality of the event will be dictated by the time of day, location and the number of attendants and guests.
However, if you still need to tone the dress down a bit, find a professional local seamstress to make the alterations. Ask for referrals from friends or your local dry cleaner.
