     Shoes under wedding dress...

I am getting married in two months. My wedding is going to be quite big and my dress is absolutely gorgeous. I've been thinking seriously about my shoes. I've broken my left leg 5 times so thus it has been recommended I wear ballet slippers even though my finance' is at least 1 foot taller than me. My mom wants me to put heels on right before I walk down the aisle and then slip on the flats after the ceremony. However I discovered a new style of shoes (a sequined ballet slipper flat) that I think would be unique but would be cute. I do not plan on wearing hosiery b/c I sweat alot and want to be as cool as possible. My legs will be tan definitely.

Would it be ok to wear these sequined flats to a big formal wedding?

Dear Sunshine,

I know the shoes you're talking about and they are informal. These wouldn't be formal enough for a formal wedding. Many people have to wear flats because of illness or injury, even for their weddings. But, these should be in the same formality and color as the dress.

A nice pair of plain, simple, ballet slippers in the same color as your dress would be perfect.

Best wishes,

I would suggest going with the ballet flats as they will be both comfortable and dressy enough for your formal wedding.
