Should I ask groom's mom to go wedding dress shopping
I have my first appointment to try on wedding dresses this saturday, I am so excited! I'm not sure if I should ask my future mother-in-law to come along with my mom and my sister. I am very close with her and feel that since she doesn't have any daughters she would really enjoy the experience. However, I don't want to upset my mom or ruin a special time for us. What should I do?

Congratulations. This is an exciting time and it is so refreshing to hear from a bride concerned with others feelings. Kudos!
As a mom, I don;t think I would mind sharing this time with my daughter's future family. But, you should speak to your mom and let her know that you are thinking about including his mom - see how she reacts. If it were me, I'd be very proud of the young woman I raised!

Thank you so much for the reply, I'm so glad I found this website, very helpful! I feel that it will be a really fun experience, and something we will always remember, I would hate to not share it with her. Plus, I have two other appointments, so there are plenty of dresses to go around. Thanks again!

When I took my daughter shopping for prom dreses we took pictures of every dress she tried on and then went home and looked them over. This might be something you'd want to do as well, if for no other reason but to have the pictures of all of you and the experience.
There can be may ways to include your groom's mom. She could help with the invitations or help you select meal and seating plans. Her involvement is only limited by your imagination and her willingness to participate. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
