Travelling on airline - where to pack my dress?

What way would you suggest to be the best way to bring my wedding dress for airline travel?

As a carry-on in the garment bag, or in a hard-cased suitcase that I will check in? I would think that the hardcased suitcase would protect it better, but then there's the risk of getting my luggage lost or misplaced.

THanks for the advise. :)

Call the airline and ask them what sort of arrangements they can make for storing your dress. Some have places where the dress could be hung up and others might ask you to stow it.

If you do a search on this site you'll find other responses to this same question. Here is one of the answers.
