I found the perfect wedding dress for my January wedding, it is a simple strapless dress and a long thick cathedral coat with fur collar and cuffs, but I am not sure what I am supposed to wear for the ceremony, If I wear the coat then all my attendants will look out of place in their 3/4 sleeve tops. If I wear the strapless sheath dress I will look underdressed for winter weather. I am also concerned that I will be too hot in the coat.
Hello JovanJ, a strapless dress is timeless. As with any formal gown the neckline is not dictated by the time of year. You will want to use the coat after the ceremony to travel from your ceremony to your reception just as you would any other coat. Be sure to get some pictures in the coat as it is a part of the vision for your wedding. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
I agree - the bridesmaids do not have to be strapless to match you. The bride is the star - it's fine to stand out! The dress sounds gorgeous! Shayna Walker, Williamsburg Wedding Design http://www.williamsburgweddingdesign.com
