Types of wedding dresses for your body type.

Ok, so I was reading a magazine which had an article on the type of gown/veil you should get for your body type, what to show off and so on. Unfortunately, I did not see a discription of my form.
I am 5'8" and athletically built. I have broad shoulders and a long neck and torso. I have an hourglass shape.
What is the best dress for me to wear?

To accent the curves of your hourglass figure try a wedding dress with fitted or
corset-style bodice and a "V" or dropped waistline. Either a full skirt or slim
straight skirt can both be flattering, paired with a fitted bodice. The mermaid
style gown can be very flattering on shapely gals but beware the strapless,
off the shoulder or spaghetti strap dress which could accentuate your broad shoulders.

The broad shouldered should look for a dress with smooth, set-in sleeves, low V-neck or high, covered necks.

Avoid high waistlines and necklines. Emphasize a small waist with a fitted waistline. Soft gathered skirts disguise hips and draw attention to the waistline.

Consider an open neckline to flatter the shoulder line and bring the eye upwards.

A-Line or Princess is great on almost every figure.

The best advice is do not go by a picture in a magazine. You MUST try on all kinds of styles. many brides are surprised to find that, after trying on the "dress of their dreams", that this style is not suited for them at all. I personally tried on hundreds of dresses (way back when Wink ) and insisted that a certian style would not work for me. Well, you guessed it, I tried it on at the bridal shop owners insistence and boy was she right on! Which leads me to another piece pf advice. Bring along a friend, even a few friends and be sure to wear the apropriate undies! That can make all of the difference!

Good Luck!
