     Veil and Train length

My wedding gown has a train that extends about 5 feet. What length of veil would be appropriate? I was thinking about a fingetip length veil but now I'm wondering if that would be too informal.

My wedding would be defined as a daytime wedding (3pm) and my gown is not ornately decorated. There is some light crystal beading on the bodice and there are small covered buttons that go all the way down the back of the bodice and train.

Thanks for your help!

When you pick your veil you need to consider the back of your dress. Since the covered buttons go down the back and to the end of the train, a finger tip length is fine. For example, if there was a bow in the back of the dress you wouldn't want the veil to end in the middle of the bow.

Good luck,

DearJenn29:

I agree with Lori regarding paying attention to the back of your dress. Try a couple of veils on with the dress and decide what YOU like best for your overall "look."
Do not allow the veil to overpower you or distract from the dress. Pay attention to what is most flattering with your hair, dress, feeling.

A formal wedding (with "train" ) usually takes place after 6 PM ... so the "rules" are already bent. The bottom line is
the BRIDE is Queen for the day. The Fashion Police are not going to arrest you for improper (whatever THAT is) length.

Enjoy the glamour you feel (and you MUST FEEL glamorous - that IS a RULE) in your most perfect of wedding ensembles.
Remain Calm --- and smile!

Congratulations!
