     Wedding Dress Etiquette

I am 37 years old and recently engaged. It will be my first marriage and my fiance 's second. I have been given conflicting advice on a wedding dress. Although we presently maintain separate residences, we may move in together 10 -12 months before the wedding. Is it appropriate to wear a white dress? Also, what length is acceptable? I mentioned to someone a knee length dress and they responded that a short dress is only suitable for those under 30 years old.

THANKS!

Dear Wedding Dress etiquette:

This is your first wedding so you can wear what you like, most any style and color. However, your dress length is considered when you look at the formality of the wedding you are planing. A knee length dress would be appropriate only for a very informal affair and has nothing to do with age. most brides wear either tea length or floor length gowns.
