     Wedding dress for delayed reception?

My fiance and I are getting married in northern Michigan on September 6, 2008. His family is from Cincinnati Oh, and mine is from Michigan. Because it's a 10 hour drive from Cincinnati to our wedding ceremony location, we have planned to have a 2nd reception a week after our wedding. This will be held in Cincinnati so friends and family who cannot travel will be able to celebrate with us. This reception will be at a golf course, and will be semi-formal.

Is it proper for me to wear my wedding dress to this reception? Or would it be more appropriate for me to buy a lovely but simple white dress (not necessarily a wedding dress) for the second reception?

Dear Kborgeson,

There are mixed feelings about this and no set rule. However, it is appropriate and some guests really want to see you in your gown. So, if you feel comfortable wearing your wedding gown, wear it.

Best wishes,
