     Wedding dress for third marriage?

Good afternoon -

What might be proper wedding dress for the following situation:

1. Third wedding for bride (50) (previous were civil ceremonies); 2nd wedding for groom (60).

2. Taking place on cruise ship prior to sailing with 14 family members in attendance as witnesses and our guests on cruise. Father anticipating giving bride away as he had not had the opportunity to participate before. No attendants. Afternoon non-religious ceremony in ship's chapel.

Thank you for your guidance.

Dear Carolyn,

There isn't a rule against wearing a wedding dress for an encore wedding any more. So, you could wear an age appropriate, informal gown. It may be better, though, to wear a daytime appropriate cocktail dress, just because of the formality of your event. The choice is yours.

Best wishes,
