Wedding dress material

Hi,

I'm getting married in Thailand next April on the beach.

I live in Thailand and would like to have a dress made from Thai silk. My dressmaker says it needs to be 2-ply. Is this correct, as I don't want it to be too heavy. I want a princess design. Can you also suggest alternative materials which would be suitable to make a princess dress, but which aren't too heavy

You should trust your designer to give you this advice or find a new designer you can trust. We don't have an expert seamstress on staff here. Sorry.
