I purchased a 100% silk gown at a discount (original price tag says $1,500). The actual inside dress tag says, "Couture Bridal Collection" but I don't know what that means. It seems to me that I may have purchased a generic dress without an actual brand name. When I search on "couture" gown, they all seem to be associated with an actual maker - i.e., "Vera Wang Couture" etc. What do you think? Thanks very much.

It does sound like a private label. If you are happy with the dress does it matter? Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

Where did you purchase the dress? if you purchase a specific designer of the dress then it should have a label of the designer sewn into the gown. There are some designers that also have their line names such as "Couture" or "Collections" sewn into the dresses as well. Amy of PerfectBridal.com http://www.perfectbridal.com

Thanks to you both for the responses. I purchased this dress from a local bridal shop - they seem to carry numerous labels.
I love the gown - I was asking about the brand out of curiosity. I just thought it peculiar that the label said "couture" but had no maker associated with it.
