What color bridal gown for bride with kids and living with groom
I am having trouble picking a wedding gown. Me and my fiance have been together for 12 yrs and have 2 kids. We already live together and I don't know what color dress I should wear. I was told I shouldn't wear white cause it means purity. I am having a outside wedding and it will be in september. Please help... Thanks very much, Retta.

Dear Retta -
Typically we would say that white is no longer thought of as a sign of purity, but of joy, so white is really fine for second weddings and those living together before marriage. However, you have been living together for quite some time, and have kids together, so be careful to plan a wedding which will be perceived as appropriate by your guests.
You can still wear white but try dresses that are less "bridal gown like", especially since your wedding is outdoors. Stick with dresses without trains and rather than a veil try flowers or a simple hair comb or unadorned tiara. You can find many beautifully elegant gowns out there so enjoy the shopping.
