My husband and I had a small ceremony in March. His brother will be getting married in July and we were invited to share in the reception following their marriage ceremony since the family will be attending. My husband thinks it'd be okay for me to wear my wedding dress again. I, however, do not feel comfortable wearing it again. If it were just a post-wedding reception for me and my husband, I would wear it, but since it is not my wedding I do not want to take away from the bride's special day. What is your opinion?

If your dress looks anything at all like a wedding dress I would not wear it and possibly outshine the bride on her wedding day. Trust your insticts. You seem to know what's best. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I completely agree. It was very gracious for your husband's brother to share his reception with the two of you. So, it is very important to be very gracious in return. Wearing your wedding dress does take the spot light off the bride and could be viewed as an insult. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
