White wedding dress for a first time bride with a child?
My daughter, age 34, is getting married. This is her first wedding and the groom's irst wedding. She has an 8 year old daughter who will be in the wedding. Should she wear a white wedding dress? The wedding will be at 2:00 in the afternoon on Dec. 31st. approx. 150 people will be attending.

White is no longer considered a sign if virginity, but rather a symbol of joy and love, so it would be acceptable for your daughter to wear a white wedding dress. However this is a personal choice and the style of gown should match the formality of the affair. She should make her decison based on how she feels and how she thinks other will perceive her.

I was so glad to find this post. I have been very stressed about this for quite some time but couldn't find an answer. I am a single mother that has never been married and we have finally set the date for Nov of this year. It is not going to be anything super formal but my heart was set on wearing a traditional dress. My fiance was unsure about wearing white because I already have children. This has made my day. Thank you so much for your site. You have helped so much. My cup truely runneth over.
