I would love for my mom, cousin, grandma, MOG, dad and friend to come with me to pick my wedding dress. My reasoning I think is kind of obvious (to anyone that knows my family.) My mom will drive me CRAZY, I trust my cousin's opinions, I'm not sure if my Grandma will make it to the wedding so I would like her involved, I think the the MOG would appreciate the invitation as she doesn't have a daughter of her own, my dad would like to be there and a friend (along with my cousin) will keep me sane.
Now, my mom thinks that this is against the rules. She thinks that she is the only one that is supposed to come with me. Is there a rule on this?
I do realize that this could be a FEW too many people in a crowded bridal shop. I haven't really made up my mind yet but I just want to know if there is proper etiquette on this.
Perhaps back in the day when the bride's mother did most of the planning and of course paying, it may have been that way. But, parents are no longer in the financial driver's seat. They also don't plan unless the couple wishes it. So, today the moms may not even see the dress until the day of the wedding.
It is your choice. But, I do agree that is quite a few people.
