I am the Maid of Honor at my friend's wedding which is scheduled to be held in April 2007. She ordered her wedding dress in February 2006 and the shop said it would take 6-9 months to come in. After 6 months went by, my friend called the shop monthly to see if the dress had arrived and was always told that it was not in yet. After 11 months and a threat from my friend's mother, the shop discovered that the dress had arrived and had been there for several months (apparently the store lacks communication between its' employees). Anyway, my friend went 2 days ago to have a final fitting. This is when she discovered that the dress was several sizes too small! The store told my friend that it was too late to order another dress and to pick out another one from their samples. My friend is very upset about this and does not know what to do since it was her dream dress. Should she try to contact the manufacturer of the dress or should she try and find something else that will be ready by the beginning of April?
Please let me know at your earliest convienience! Thanks!
Review your contract with the bridal shop. See if there is anything in the contract that will allow you to cancel or get some sort of restitution. Then, if that is the case, bring the contract, and any proof, to the bridal shop owner or manager and insist they make this right.
