     dilemma about reception/dinner attire

Hi! My husband got married in February in a park with a wedding celebrant without any guests. It is a long story, but briefly my husband could not go through with the “Cinderella wedding”. Therefore, he promised to me to have the perfect reception the way I want it, when his brother will be in town. We were planning to have this reception/dinner later to make this event official. We have decided to have it in July when my husband's brother and his family will be in town (he is in the military and this is his time off). We have already sent out the invitation about the dinner to toast our marriage to the guests. We will have this event in a nightclub/ restaurant with a tropical theme (the place is Caribbean style, and the dinner will take place in the Island Room, which is mainly burgundy color with indoor palms). We will have small tropical arrangements on the tables and small tropical color gift boxes. The cake is informal, also tropical color with Congratulations! and a Hawaiian centerpiece (2 hula dancers) on it. The dinner will start at 6:00 p.m. and will end about at 9:30 p.m., and then after we stay for dancing, etc. My question is regarding our attire. What should we wear? I was thinking about an ivory color strapless, A-line, tea-length (little below knee high) "bridal" dress with metallic embroidery and ocean blue ribbon accents at waist. My hair is short brown, and I would wear an ivory color small flower with ocean blue feathers (very cute and elegant looking) for color coordination. My husband was thinking about wearing a beige/sand color summer suit, possibly with an open-neck shirt. Do you think it is appropriate or too much? In case if it does not sound right, can you please let me know what the right choice would be? We informed our guests, that this dinner is not a formal dinner, but most of our guests will dress up fancy. I want to make sure I will pick the right dress and will stand out. Thank you so much!
