     gown cleaning and pressing

hello, i recently just purchased a gown off the rack at a store and i have to get the dress cleaned, pressed and altered.

should i have the dress altered first, then cleaned and pressed? or the reverse?

should i be aware of anything before taking it to a cleaner?

thanks,

beccaCrazy

Beccaoco:
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Your gown should be pressed and cleaned prior to having alterations done. If alterations are made first, and the dress experiences shrinkage as a result of the cleaning process, it could result in an ill fit although the dress was correctly measured beforehand. Remember, it would not be proper to expect the bridal shop to 'fix' the dress if it no longer fits properly after it has been cleaned.
Good luck!
