First of all me and my fiance are getting married on the FL beach in December, which sounds like cold... but it usually only gets down to the low 60s, at the lowest, this time of the year. I am having so much trouble finding a wedding dress that I like. Here is my first dilemma, I don't want to wear a boring old sundress because I am somewhat of an attention grabber. However, my fiance is refusing to wear a tux (or anything close) at our beach wedding... he keeps joking about wearing a wet suit. And I don't want to look overdressed next to him. So I decided I thought I would go for a theme type dress to match our comical personality. I wanted to get mermaid cut so that I would look like a mermaid (my engagement ring has a mermaid on it). But I am soooo curvy that mermaid cut doesn't fit quite right and it looks too formal to me. Then, my second pick was to find something kinda sexy to show off my nice florida tan I've been working on. But it may be too cold for that and I don't want to be so trashy that I look like I'm at a club instead of giving myself to only one man for my whole life. I am also only 20 so I want to have something that makes me look young, attractive, fun, and beachy... yet somewhat formal (sparkles and shine) because this is a once in a lifetime thing. I am just having such a hard time with this. Do you have any ideas for me? I want people to look at me and think beautiful mermaid shining in the setting sun. That is my dream. But, am I being unrealistic?
Thanks, Amanda

Try designers like Claire Pettibone, Amy Michelson,or Nicole Miller. They carry designs that are light and airy with some flash.
Keep in mind that some of the couture designers will add beading to your dress, or you could take it to a professional bridal seamstress and add beading.

Thanks so much! I have a few ideas of what I am really looking for now... I even found a link on one of those fasion designer's websites that had a picture of how I want to do my hair. But does anyone have suggestions on how to find these styles for cheaper. I am not on an extremely tight budget, I just can't afford to drag a $5000 dress through the sand. Do you think I could take the idea to a dress maker? Would you suggest that? I have already searched ebay...
