I'm not getting married until may 2006, but am trying to get an idea of what kind of dress I would like to wear. I'm looking at various sites to get an idea of what kind of styles are out there, but a lot of them seem too old for me. I'm only going to be 19.5 when I get married, and I want a dress that will look simple, but elegant, but I also want it to reflect my age, so I don't feel like I'm playing dress up in something that just doesn't suite me, but also that i don't look like a little kid. Are there any suggestions for styles that are... younger, but still show class?
Picking your dress should be the fun part, they key is to find a style that you love and feel most beautiful in. Since you are younger and want to reflect your age, my suggestion is to look for a dress on the more trendier side, rather than the traditional side. Maybe a dress with a satin sash, a broach, even a dress that shows off your figure. Designers like, Monique Lhuillier, Melissa Sweet, and Nicole Miller make dresses that are great. Their dresses are classy and trendy at the same time. Just keep flipping through magazines to find the styles you like. Always remember to keep an open mind when trying on dresses, because it is hard to tell what it looks like until you put it on. So, if you don't like the dress on the hanger, try it on anyway. You'd be surprised how much better the dress looks on. Plus it is easier to find the style that looks best on you. Have fun shopping for dresses.
