     How to bustle a veil

I can save a ton of money on a veil by purchasing it on line. My problem is that I have no idea how to bustle a veil. I was told that the bridal shop could do it but they are will charge at least twice as much. Any ideas??

Thanks

Save your money on the veil if you can! Bustling the veil is no problem and that shouldn't be the reason why you spend more in the bridal shop. You can always go to the bridal shop and try on veils and have the woman in the shop show you how the veil is bustled. If you have a sewer in the family make sure they are with you. This way when you order the veil online that person can add a hook to bustle the veil.

If that doesn't work you can bustle it yourself without having to attach a hook to your veil. You can use a hat pin to hold the veil in place and fluff it up to make your bustled veil look pretty. Or you can always use a fabulous brooch to hold the veil in place. This way you can wear your veil for the night and have a great accessory in your hair that will catch everyone's eye.

Good luck,

What is your dress like that you feel required to bustle your veil? OR
Are you really wanting a long veil for ceremony, then shorter during the reception?

I do not recommend bustling a veil with pins --- the tulle material is fragile and one good pull (albeit accidental) could rip your veil during the evening ... or stab someone who tries hugging you (oooops, sorry Aunt Mary...)

Purchasing on line ??? Do you have an option to purchase a shorter veil? or is this an auction with a one of a kind?

Perhaps you could detach the veil altogether from headpiece for the reception.
If the veil does not have a finished edge, perhaps you could trim it to suit your fancy. Get help when trimming...
Think of this a trimming your own hair ...

If I can be of further help, please call on me.
Take a deep breath
