When do I take off my veil?

My veil is cathedral length and does not cover my face. Is it customary to only wear the veil to the ceremony? My mom wants me to keep it on for the reception for pictures, but I'm not sure how I feel about that. Is it normal to keep your veil on for the reception?

You would be far more comfortable taking a catedral length veil off at the reception. Many brides take their veils off after the ceremony, and some replace them with a headpiece or live flower.
