     Dad's girlfriend

My father's girlfriend is a new addition to the family. She's only been around for a short time. She is paying the biggest part for our reception, should I put her name on the program? If so, where do I put it? Also, should I ask her first if she wants it to be on there?

Dear Adding a Name,

The programs is basically info for the guests. If you feel that they need to know who your dad's girlfriend is, then you should include her name. This is important especially if she will be seated specially or if she will be acting a host.

If she is contributing substantially it is appropriate for you to include her as host on your invitation. This is where her name should be listed.

It is appropriate to ask her in both cases.

Best wishes,
