     Listing Honorary Grandmother in Program

The only living grandparents that I have are my maternal and paternal grandmothers. All other grandparents for the bride and groom are deceased and will be mentioned in another section of the program. Both of the living grandmothers have always lived far away from me during my childhood and therefore, I "adopted" another grandmother from my hometown. She will be seated with the grandmothers and I need to know how she should be listed in the program.

Dear Rkc,

Usually we just list them as honored friend with their names. But, I really don't see a problem with using your title of Honorary Grandmother. It is definitive and not confusing.

List her under your other grandmothers.

Best wishes,

I agree. Either honorary title is appropriate, clear and sensitive.
