Planning the timing of ceremony and reception different locations.

I am having my wedding and reception at two different locations.. I am unsure of how to plan the timing of the ceremony at the church. The cocktail hour at my reception hall starts at 5:00. I think the ceremony will be half hour, pictures will be an hour, bridal party has to bustle my dress and it takes about half hour to get to the reception hall. I was thinking maybe 2:30 for the church ceremony? I did see other posts that refer to this issue, but none that really answered my direct question. Any advice would be a help at this point. Thank you.Smile

For the comfort of your guests, you should plan the ceremony so that your guests are enjoying the cocktail hour while you do your photos and get to the reception. That being said I would recommend 3:30 or 4 for your ceremony. Have as many photos taken prior to the ceremony so that you can be present at the cocktail hour. Nothing irritates a guest as much as an extended period before the bride and groom arrive.
