Is it proper etiquette (or is it common) for the cover of a wedding program to have only the bride's maiden name monogram? I have never heard of such a thing, but my fiance claims that this is common practice in her tradition. Her primary explanation is that this is the last time the bride uses her maiden monogram. I am Jewish and she comes from a very conservative, Episcopalian background, so maybe this is just another one of those cultural differences, but it seems very, very odd to me that the cover of a program celebrating the wedding of two people would only have the monogram of one. Thanks for your reply!

The most common monogram is the 3-letter monogram, which includes your first initial, your last name initial and her first name initial. The other type of monogram is one where just the initial of your last name is displayed.
I have not heard of a monogram only for the bride's last name. Rhonda Allen, Bridal Consultant New Beginnings Weddings
