Program wording: don't toss petals until recessional
Is there a courteous way to specify in a wedding program "not to toss petals provided in cones on your seat until the recessional?" I wouldn't be asking if the wedding coordinator at our venue hadn't pointed out that often guests get excited and do this in the middle of the ceremony.

Wait to hand out the petals to the guests on their way out. Then they can throw the petals at the bridal couple as they exit the church. This is the way it is typically done with bubbles, or in the old days, with rice. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I forgot to mention that we're getting married in a garden ceremony (completely open air).

You can still wait to hand these out. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
