     Program wording and wedding seating

I am doing the programs for my son's wedding. His father and I were divorced many years ago. I have not remarried. His father has remarried, so my son has a stepmother. How would the wording go on the Wedding Program? Do I list just his father? Or Mr and Mrs John Doe?

We have listed her parents under the heading:

Parents of the Bride: Dick and Jane Doe

Parents of the Groom: Mary Doe

Or would Mother of the Groom: Mary Doe and Father of the Groom: John Doe, be more proper?

Also, I will be escorted to the front row for the Groom's side of the family. Where should his father and his wife sit?

Dear MOG,

It would be better to write: Father of the Groom: Mr. John Doe and wife...

He and his wife would sit in the third row.

Best wishes,

Hi Rebecca:

Thank you for your reply. I just spoke to the Bride and she says she would rather list them as

Father and Stepmother of the Groom: John and Mary Doe, to avoid any complaining !

Is this going to be okay, or wording them both a different way, other than John Doe and Wife. She feels using Wife will insult her.

Thanks again

That would be fine. But, I meant adding her name after "and wife". Either way is fine.
