Wedding program titles for people who are more than friends
I have two wedding attendants. I need to give them titles in the wedding program and I am having trouble.
One is a friend from high school who is like a brother to me. Friend of bride is simply not significant enough for him.
The other attendant is a former exchange student my family and I once hosted. She and I are very close, and we continue to think of each other as sisters because of her place within our immediate family. I am no longer her host-sister, and some people in my family might not understand if I were to refer to her as my sister.
Is there any good way to acknowledge these relationships without creating confusion? I am an only child, so these two are the closest I have to siblings!

Wedding programs can be either very formal or very informal. If you want to note your special relationships on the program that is fine. Friend of the bride (from high schoool) and Friend of the bride (former exchange student) You could also do a star beside each of their names and note the special relationship on the bottom of the program. I agree. Also, you don't even need to relay this information on the program. You could simply state this during the reception or receiving line. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
