     wording wedding program divorced parents

My fiance's parents divorced and both remarried. His father is still married to his step-mother; his mother is now deceased and was still married to his step-father at the time. How do I word "groom's parents" on the program?

Dear Listing Parents,

Unless the step-parents raised him, you don't have to mention them. Under his name write: son of Mr. Sam Smith and the late Mrs. Jane Jones.

Best wishes,
